8 Point Star (Moon & Sun)

This origami video shows how to make an eight point star from eight squares.  This is sometimes called a “the sun and moon” origami fold or “star and moon” origami fold because it starts out as a circle and then you transform it into a star.  This is one of my all time favorite folds.  **this fold was designed by Robert Neale and published in the book “Origami: Plain and Simple”**

Materials:

  1. Eight squares all the same size
    1. In this video I use 10 x 10 cm card stock squares that I cut (I use my trusty Carl brand rotary paper cutter) from larger sheets
    2. The final product is about 15 cm across at it’s widest
  2. I like to use 2 different colors, but of course you can use 1 or up to 8 colors in any combination
