Flower (lily / iris)
This origami video shows how to make a traditional origami lily flower. It starts with the frog base, which is included in this video, but if you already know the frog base, you can make one and then skip ahead in the video. I use a pencil to help shape the petals at the end, but any smooth (so not to tear the paper) rounded object will work – chop stick, pen, screwdriver, etc.
**note: the origami lily and iris are the same pattern
Materials:
- One square sheet
- pipe cleaner – optional
- stem tape – optional

erm, how to make leaf? i would like to make a stem and a leaf to attach to it.
Elodas, I show how to make a leaf and also a way to make a whole floral arrangement in this Mother's day special video here. The video is a recording of a live show that I'll be doing periodically. If you don't want to watch through the whole show, you can jump to about 7:30 in the video and just watch instructions on the leaf. Eventually I'll make a short video that shows just how to make an origami leaf.
You can learn how to make a leaf in this video. It was my first livecast and it also shows how to attach the leaf to the stem of the flower. I'll eventually make a short video that shows just how to make the leaf.
Hey, I made one, with a green pipe cleaner as a stalk, and stuck a ball of yellow pipe-cleaner in the top, which i sprayed with perfume! ^.^ It's fun to surprise people when you tell them to smell it, plus, it works just as well as any incense! ^.^
Have you ever considered making an origami rose? I tried to make one, but it was impossible.
Very cool idea to add perfume to your flower. I suppose you could also sprinkle bits of potpourri into the flower to make them smell nice as well. If you take some pics of your flowers, post them to the Paper Pics thread. I'd love to see them.
