Square Box (no lid)

This origami video shows how to make a square box with no lid.  These boxen make great little containers for candies like skittles or m & m’s or office supplies like paper or binder clips.  You can also place 4 smaller boxen into a larger  box to make your own paper bento box.  For this video, I use a traditional 150 x 150 mm square sheet of paper.  The dimensions of the resulting box are approximately 53 x 53 x 26 mm… that makes for rough ratios of N/3 x N/3 x N/6, where N is the original edge length of your square paper.  You could also do 0.35N x 0.35N x 0.17 to be a little more precise.

If you’re wondering why the heck I keep saying “boxen,” think about checking out track 4 on Brian Regan Live.  It’s an absolutely HILARIOUS skit about how to make a word a plural… I recommend getting the whole album though… some of the funniest stuff I’ve ever heard.
