Samurai Helmet (Kabuto)

This origami video shows how to make a samurai’s helmet or kabuto.  Kabutos were the inspiration for Darth Vader’s helmet (and many others) in the Star Wars movies. I think this makes a fun party hat.

Haha that is amazing. I just got into origami this summer and I can make the classics (Swan, Flapping Bird, Sailboat, and a Box without the lid) and I think it is amazing. I mean turning a flat, boring piece of paper into something like that is amazing. Oh and I also can make the Change of Heart (I hate thoes little tiny inverts, the ones that hold the quarter) using your video, of course haha.

    • Glad you're getting into origami. It's a great way to pass the time and expand your mind… I almost use it as a sort of meditation – it helps me to relax… unless it's a tedious fold like Change of Heart… lol. Anyhow, glad you like the site.

i love your tanks and space ships!!!! wooo
p.s is there a vid on making a bird base other than the one from howcast becasue there one is to hard since they skip the last few steps and it gets too confusing and frustrating

  • yeah, you can use a page of news paper cut (or torn) to a square to make one that will fit your head… well I guess it depends on how big your head is… but it should fit most kids.
