This instructional video shows you how to make two different kinds of booklets from regular office paper. You just need paper and scissors – no glue, tape or staples. These are great for taking notes, making to-do lists or using as brochures for a school project. The larger of the two could also be made from heavy weight paper and used as a mini scrapbook.

Materials:
- Office paper (A4 or 8.5×11)

This instructional video shows you how to make an origami cherry blossom. Some people call this kirigami since cutting is involved; however, originally ancient origami didn’t distinguish between folds that required cutting and those that didn’t – so both are correct. I have made a video for a cherry blossom that does not require cuts; however this one is nice because it’s pretty simple and it has 5 petals like a true cherry blossom (the other version only has 4 petals). Once you’ve made a few of these flowers, check out this video to learn how to make some stems for them.

They’re great for your desk at home or work… maybe not so great on your school desk though. I know people probably don’t use CD’s that much any more, but I do find reason every once in a while to have to burn stuff onto a disc and share it with my co-workers. As you get to see your friends at school again, you might want to share a movie or video game with your buddy. Well Make sure your discs don’t get scratched up by using these Disc Covers.

Booklets: These work great for making quick to do lists or brochures for school projects.

This instructional video shows you my technique for adding stems onto origami flowers. This is one of the most common questions I’m asked, so this video has been a long time coming. I make the stems out of pipe cleaners and use floral wrap tape to cover the fuzzy part of the pipe cleaner and make it look more like a stem or the twig of a branch.

This instructional video shows you how to make an origami boat… this is the 3rd boat (that floats) I’ve made a video for so I call it “boat 3.” Other people sometimes call it a covered boat or motor boat. It’s very similar to boat 2 except well… it has covers on either end of it. This is my favorite of the floating boats I’ve made so far.

Hey everyone! I’m always trying to fine-tune this site so that it’s really easy to use… so I’d really like to get some feedback from you. Please take a moment to share your thoughts by answering the 3 polls below:

This video shows you how to make a cool star out of 5 one dollar bills – but really you can use any bill… or even paper money from other countries: euros, yen, yuan, won, reals… it’s all good. I even show you how to make this out of plane rectangle pieces of paper. You decide if you want five or six points to your star. This fold is cool in it’s own right, but would also make a cool gift if you planned on giving money, or a very nice tip for a well served meal.

Well most of the heavy lifting is finally done. I reposted the majority of the origami how to videos I’ve done over the last year and a half. I opted not to post a couple because of poor quality, but I might redo them at a later date.

The forums and groups are up and running and more people register with the site each week. The origami store is up and running – the Paper and Books sections are complete.

You still might notice slight changes in the look and feel of the site as I find better ways of presenting all things origami, but the behind the scenes changes are mostly done… thank goodness.

New Projects:

In the next few weeks, I plan on making more videos for the Modified Origami section. Don’t worry, I won’t stop doing videos on how to fold origami completely, but I will be splitting my time between folding and modifying. So what do I mean by “modifying”? Well for example, I get asked over and over – how do you make the stem on these flowers? I would post videos that showed how to make the stem and arrange the flowers in the modified origami section – I think you all will really like it once I add enough videos to give you all a feel for it.

In addition to the creation of modified origami videos, I’ll be working on more ways to you all engage and interact with foldsomething.com I won’t go into details quite yet because things are in the very early stages yet, and I wouldn’t want to over promise. But I’ll definitely ask your input on the forum and keep you updated as I make progress.

This video shows you how to make an origami space ship… this was one of the first videos that I made almost 2 years ago, and it was also one of the first origami folds that I learned to make. I used to make a ton of these in middle school because it uses rectangular paper – notebook paper, worksheets and even gum wrappers usually ended up as a space ship.
