Crazy Origami Concept
Check out this crazy origami inspired mp3 player concept spotted on Yanko Design…

The idea is that you’d fold the player so that it would take on the shape of traditional play, stop, fast forward / skip and rewind / back buttons and would actually perform those functions.

I think that’s pretty slick… I already have an iPhone that I use for music, but this would be a neat conversation piece. What do you all think?
Halloween emergency!
Need last minute decorations for Halloween or possibly some costume accessories? Check out some of these videos I’ve done that might help.
Here’s a fun samurai’s helmet that can actually be worn. For young kids, toddlers and younger you could probably use a 12×12 inch (~30×30 cm) piece of scrapbook paper. You might need to make a tie on strap out of strips of cloth or shoe laces to keep the helmet attached. For older kids (or adults) use newspaper to make a helmet big enough to fit.
Here’s a pumpkin that can easily be turned into a fun jack-o-lantern. Use it for decoration on your door or windows.
Here’s a bat that can be used as an accessory to a costume or hanging decorations for your house.
If you need a basket to carry some of that sweet loot, check out this video!
Finally… if you’ve got some real ambition, check out this episode of Project Runway (season 6, episode 5)where the designers had to make their runway look out of newspaper.
Gone to the Rodeo
Hey y’all! Sorry, no new original video this weekend. I thought things would slow down a bit now that it’s summer, but they’ve actually gotten a bit more hectic. Some of you might recall that I’m taking graduate courses. Well now I’m taking two three courses this summer, and I’m working more than I thought I would because I got a promotion.
I plan on having a new original video for next weekend and I’m planing another live broadcast with an Independence day / 4th of July theme. I was thinking Thursday or Friday afternoon or possibly Saturday before noon. If you have any preference, leave a comment on this page as to which day you want. In the mean time, enjoy this cool paper craft video that my sis-in-law found.

Summer is on the way!
Seems like just last week I was whining about how cold it is, and now seems like Summer’s skipped Spring and is in full effect. I hope that’s not the case because the building I work in has no air conditioning! Plus I work on the 4th level so it’s usually about 5 or more degrees warmer in my room than outside or on the lower levels.
Anyhoo, I wanted to let everyone know that I might not be able to keep my self-imposed schedule of a new video this weekend. I’ve got a deadline to meet for a graduate course that I’m taking, and that has to take priority. Good news is that I should be able to post a video tomorrow since I have the day off for Memorial Day.
In the meantime enjoy this video that shows how to make an origami water bomb. I thought it might be fun to make a couple of these, fill them up with water and have a little battle… a good way to cool down and have a bit of fun if you’re having a cook-out this weekend.
