Square Box 2

This origami video shows you how to make yet another square box. I use this box to hold things like used batteries (until I can take them to be recycled), paper clips, or whatever else fits in it.

– 1 square sheet of paper

– In this video I use 150 x 150 mm origami paper (~ 6” x 6”). The final box comes out to be 53 x 53 x 26 mm
– dimensions will be roughly N/3 x N/3 x N/6, where N is the original edge length of your square paper
– 0.35N x 0.35N x 0.17 is a little more precise

  1. At the pause point you suggest making another to serve as a base or a lid – but you don’t say larger or smaller than the first.
I teach origami and saw right away that I could not recommend this video to my student beginners.
You assumed that one would know to adjust the folds to make either a lid or a base the second time around.
Two boxes the same size won’t work without scrunching and an ill fit.
    This wrecks the whole thing.
I would fix this video or delete it – since the success you show won’t ever really be achieved with these instructions.
