This video shows you how to make a pencil holder out of paper – office supplies out of office supplies if you will. This was designed by Marc Vigo and it’s one of my favorite folds. You will need a rectangular sheet of paper – 8.5 x 11 inches or A4 should work.

2 Cup Pencil Holder

Materials:

- 1 rectangular sheet of paper (copy paper, printer paper, office paper, 8.5 x 11, A4)
- template (this may help some people; however some visitors have said it’s unnecessary)

I’m having trouble with the “hard to explain” part. I see it in the video but I have no idea what you’re doing. Diagram basically skips over that part.

It's tricky, but it definitely works… it took me a few days of trying, getting frustrated, leaving it alone and then coming back to it. If you have any specific questions, let me know and maybe I can help. You can do it!

For me what you say and show is clear. I could make it quite quickly. I've done other origami before but this one is particularly complicated. The pdf sheet of paper helps a lot. I customized it with japanese masking tape. It's really nice on my office. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, glad you could make it… like you say, this one is complicated! I made one out of card stock and glued a couple origami lotus flowers on it and gave it to my administrative support staff. I have a non-decorated one on my desk at work.
