Origami Books

An overly complex origami heart <3

This video show’s how to make an origami heart.  Sure there, are easier hearts to make, like this one, but the method I show in the video uses square paper without any cuts… most hearts I’ve seen require cutting or rectangular paper (like the change of heart fold I made last year).

Very nice! This is a rather stupid question… but I'm guessing origami paper is really the best for this kind of folding, right? I was thinking of making this for the nieces, but I'm betting I'll only find construction paper (or maybe some color copy paper) at the nearby store. Well, I'll try it out. If I'm even half way successful, I'll let you know. ;-)

    • There are no stupid questions! Colored office paper cut into squares or even square scrapbook paper would work just fine… though you may need something hard and rounded (like a pen) to help with creasing because those papers would be a little thicker than origami paper. If you're using office paper, I would recommend these easier directions.

Thanks! Actually, I found some rose-colored stationary that worked pretty well. I did have to cut into squares (and my ability to cut straight lines matches that of a three-year old), but it worked out pretty well. Or, how about this: my hearts turned out better than I expected for uncrafty me. But you'll be able to see and judge for yourself… check your mail in about a week. ;-D Anyway, I had a lot of fun making these, so thanks again!
